#303 Resurfacing with Koa Smith and Chris Keener

Koa Smith (@koasmith) is a professional surfer from Kaui, Hawaii. He is widely known as getting the longest barrel ever at Skeleton Bay, Namibia. In the new film, Resurfacing, Koa dives into a traumatic brain injury that nearly killed him and the unconventional tools he used to heal himself.

Chris Keener (@thechriskeener) heads up the burgeoning film and video mouthpiece within MUD\WTR known as MUD\FILMS. As founder and principal of two production companies - Goldenbear and Goodfight Media - he oversaw content for outlets like National Geographic, Discovery Channel, ESPN, and the Travel Channel. Recently he directed and EP'd the 5-part docuseries ‘We Speak Dance’ for Netflix, and helmed an episode of the Webby award winning ‘Conflict’, for Netflix and The Atlantic.

As the creator of Goldenair Breathwork and the Lixir app, Chris facilitates transformative experiences by connecting people to the power of their breath. He conducts workshops for clients like Salesforce, Soho house, Alo Yoga, and Penn University, while also working in prisons and with the underserved. He co-created and voiced the Lixir app, the first to focus on long-format guided breathwork.
